Bringing plant-based meals to students in university canteens in France

Assiettes Végétales is a new organisation in France which aims is to convince university canteens to serve 9 million plant-based meals per year by 2023. I would like to tell you why we think changing the menu in public canteens and restaurants is a crucial step for the massive diet change we all want, how we are trying to do it, our results and challenges and how anyone could start this from scratch in their own countries.

Our experience can be useful for anyone interested in taking actions to promote plant-based meals though institutional change whilst also touching on vegan outreach and changes in the law. The catering system holds fantastic opportunities to make millions of meals more animal-friendly.
