Communicating to create change for animals: top 10 lessons learnt
16 th August
12:00 - 12:45
Communications are a vital tool for animal activists. Our message and the way we present it to the world will make all the difference in how effective we can be at creating the change for animals we want.
The Humane League UK’s mission is to end the abuse of animals raised for food. First launched in the UK in 2016, we have been working to gain corporate commitments to advance animal welfare through private dialogue and public campaigns, while encouraging a shift towards plant-based diets for individuals.
So, where do you start with communications when you’re just setting up shop? How do you leverage opportunities to spread your message and build support with a small team and limited resources?
This session will look at the top 10 learnings that can be gleaned from our journey as a brand new organisation in the UK to becoming an important voice in the animal protection sector. With constructive and honest insights into successes and challenges faced with practical tips along the way, the talk will look at how PR and social media have played a central role in establishing our roots in the UK.
