Do you like chicken, or chickens? Campaigning to change the life of millions

In the last 30 years, the chicken consumption in Sweden has gone up by almost 400 percent. Over 99 million broiler chickens are bred and killed for meat each year, which makes chickens the most common land living animal in Sweden – and they are also the ones who are treated the worst. Therefore, a change in the chicken industry would change the life of millions.
In 2018, Djurens Rätt launched their nationwide campaign, “99 miljoner”, to raise awareness and try to break the decade long trend of increased chicken consumption. But is it even possible?
In this talk, Linn Bleckert, campaigns coordinator at Djurens Rätt, will guide you through the campaign and some of the challenges, results and lessons learned over the year.
