Originally from an agricultural background, Georg Prinz came to the city of Vienna to study linguistics, but soon, his passion for animal rights took over and he gradually decided to dedicate his life more and more to the struggle for animal rights.
He was intensively involved in the successful campaign to abolish game bird farms and enclosure hunting in Austria and is currently focusing on campaigns against fur shops, horse carriages and pig farms. Other than that, he acts as the activist coordinator for the farm animal advocacy organization /VGT Austria https://vgt.at. He is also an organizer
for street outreach group /Animals Voice https://www.facebook.com/voiceforanimalsvienna, volunteers for the Vegan Society Austria https://www.vegan.at and was involved in the protest movement against Austrias increasingly authoritarian government before it broke apart.
In his talk at CARE he will talk about the importance of being okay with “being weird” when choosing campaign targets and strategies.
