Some people in the animal rights movement dream of creating an animal sanctuary and spending all their time caring for rescued animals. Others think sanctuaries are a waste of money, since the money spent on relatively few rescued animals could be used instead to campaign to end the suffering of a potentially much larger number of animals.

Finding herself somewhat in the middle of these two positions, Lina will talk about strategic use of animal rescue and sanctuaries. She will talk about her own small hen and chicken sanctuary ‘Frie Vinger’ and how its residents have played a prominent role in Anima’s cage-free campaign in Denmark – a campaign that has practically turned the Danish cage egg industry to dust. In the presentation, you will also get a chance to “meet” some of the rescued animals when Lina shows photos and videos from the sanctuary.
